A Graduate of Oregon State University, with a B.S. in Ag Economics, Mike has lived and worked in the mid-Willamette Valley his entire life, and he has spent more than 20 years in the grass seed industry. Mike began his career on a local seed farm operating equipment and a grass seed warehouse. While in college, he worked as a technician for a USDA grass seed breeding program.
After graduation he was production manager of Barenbrug USA, an international seed company. He was then a general manager and part owner of Lewis Seed Company for 10 years before leaving and starting Thomas Ag Services in 2009. Mike has served in the seed industry as president of the Oregon Seed Council and a board member of the Oregon Seed Trade Association.
Eric graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He also recently graduated from the Achieving Excellence in Community Development program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Eric has spent over 25 years working as a CFO or Controller in the manufacturing, transportation, nonprofit and service industries. Eric is excited to learn the grass seed industry.
Brad Herb was born and raised in the seed industry with 20 years' experience. Brad is currently the Vice President of Thomas Ag Services and manager of AgWest Brands. He directs global sales and general operations. Brad believes in doing what's right for the farmer! His experience the in the industry has taught him to go the extra mile with seed and forage producers across the globe. As a result, Brad has many great friendships in the industry that count on his recommendations every year.
Sean moved to the Oregon Willamette Valley in 2007 and grew to love the year-round lush green environment found in Oregon. In 2013, he graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Business Management and a minor in Economics.
At the time of gradation, he encountered Thomas Ag and saw an opportunity to apply his skills from business into the grass seed industry. Now he works with warehouses and suppliers to secure and ship products to Thomas Ag clients. He oversees the complete process from purchases to sales in accounting.
While completing his biology degree on a campus surrounded by wheat fields in Washington state, Kevin worked summers and later swing/graveyard shifts cleaning grass seed. He moved through the ranks of harvest logistics, seed marketing, grain marketing, management of grain, fertilizer/chemical, and grain & grass seed business.
In 2010, Kevin accepted a position managing a turf, forage, and cover crop seed blending & packaging business in Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
Kevin joined the Thomas Ag Services team in 2017 to manage its private label seed business from its Oregon office and continues to be surrounded by seed production fields.
Shelby has been surrounded by agriculture her whole life and graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science and Technology Systems.
Here at Thomas Ag Services, Shelby works with both international and domestic customers: Booking their freight, managing purity and germination tests, handling export documents and ensuring all paperwork flows correctly and efficiently.
