About Thomas AG

Before starting Thomas AG in 2009 I was a partner and General Manager of Lewis Seed Company in Oregon. I took my experience in farming seed, being a production manager for an international company, and 10 years of being a general manger and started a consulting company (Thomas AG) in the seed business. I worked with growers to help them get their products to the marketplace and help customers put together brand programs and helped them supply those brands. We partnered with CHS and developed their “CHS Seed Resources” brand. We developed the website, the products, and what made up those products. We also supply the seed to that brand that is sent into the CHS country operation stores. Thomas AG prides itself in being a neutral partner in the seed industry. This allows us to work with all segment of the seed industry and provide service that enhance the business we work with.

 Thomas AG provides services to the agriculture community that we have been a part of collectively for over 50 years. Relationships we have developed over decades have proven to be mutually beneficial to the growers and the companies we have worked with. We believe that partnerships in agriculture are critical for the success of our businesses. Our partners understand we care about principles that include integrity, collaboration, ingenuity, and diligence and we work together to build each other’s businesses.  A Graduate of Oregon State University, with a B.S. in Ag Economics, Michael Thomas has lived and worked in the mid-Willamette Valley his entire life, and he has spent over thirty years in the grass seed industry. Michael began his career on a local seed farm as he ran equipment and a grass seed warehouse. While in college, he worked as a technician for a USDA grass seed breeding program. After graduation he was production manager of Barenbrug USA, an international seed company. He was then a general manager and part owner of Lewis Seed Company for 10 years before leaving and starting Thomas AG Services in 2009. Michael has served in the seed industry as President of the Oregon Seed Council and on the board of the Oregon Seed Trade Association. Michael has also farmed seed for years and currently has a seed farm in Preston Idaho.

Jon was raised on the Thomas/Jenkins Family farm in Niter Idaho. He went to school in Agriculture Systems at Ricks College. He has work in Agriculture for man years on farms, IFA as a professional applicator and Valley AG as a professional applicator and helped maintain the feed mill in Preston Idaho. He has worked with Michael for the past few years managing the production, trials, seed sales and fabrication.
